Hi all, we are Brian and Valerie, workampers. We sold our house and moved into our 32 foot Grand Design Imagine travel trailer, with our two dogs, Moxxi and Tucker.
Brian is a former graphic designer. He has two amazing sons, Mike and Dylan, who are grown men. He is a jack of all trades and can do anything he puts his mind to. He is amazing! He also runs his own website.
Valerie is a former account manager. She has her degree in Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism. She has been camping most of her life as her grandfather (AKA Pappy) always had a camper or motorhome while she grew up. A campfire and the ocean are her happy places.
As you read from our previous blog, we sold our house to travel the country. We are no where near the point where we can retire. Brian will be 50 this year (2023) and Valerie just turned 39. So we will be doing workamping jobs along our way. What are workampers? Workampers are adventuresome individuals and couples who have chosen a wonderful lifestyle that combines any kind of part-time or full-time work with RV camping (taken from workamper.com).
Since we sold our house, we have been at a KOA (Kampgrounds of America) not too far from our sticks and bricks. We have been organizing what we have kept from our house and doing some upgrades and modifications to our camper. We are trying to get as much as we can done before we start our first workamping job in April. We will explain more on this in a future blog and may even have a video on how we took everything from our house and fit it into our camper.
We will be working at a KOA in Kentucky. Valerie will be working the check in’s, camp-store, and do some light housekeeping, while Brian will be doing landscaping and maintenance. We are very excited and grateful to have this opportunity.
We have been thoroughly enjoying being unemployed for a few weeks and making our new home our home.
Next week we will talk about our first experience with Harvest Hosts on our way down to Kentucky!
Valerie is a full-time RV’r. She has her degree in Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism. She loves to travel with her husband and 2 dogs. She would love to answer any questions and can be reached at owner@worklesscampmore.com
I’m so proud!!! Have the time of your lives!
Thank you!
