I told you all that I would let you know how our first week of working would be this week, but change of plans.
We started our journey to our first workamping job on Friday morning. We get there and were given our site and were told we were starting our training at 8:45am the next day. We get to our site and start to set up. The lady that was to train us, comes rolling down in her golf cart as a package was delivered to us. She had an attitude because our dogs barked at her. She then asked Brian why we had a lock on our surge protector. He told her so no one steals it (we do this at every campground, as you never know who is around). She had an yet another attitude and said “oh, you don’t have to worry about that here”.
Later that day, we walked the dogs around the campground. It was a nice campground and had 2 ponds. We finally met the owner in person. He was very nice and polite. It seemed like it would be a beautiful place to spend the summer.
Saturday was our first day of training. We were asked to start at 8:45am, so we walked up to the office at 8:40am, and there she was looking annoyed because we were preventing her from doing her training before she asked us to be there. We go in and she shows both of us the computer and then her husband came in to show Brian the outside work. That left me and this lady alone…
She proceeded to train me and was nice, then I am not sure what happened. She started to have an issue with anything I did. My handwriting was sloppy, I didn’t smile while I was listening to someone on the phone, I held a pen in my hand while I was not writing. I was in shock and didn’t know what to do, so I just let it go because I knew she would only be there for another week and she would move on. Then some other issues arose. There is a lot more to the story, but I’ll just leave it at it was not a good fit. To say that this was a very uncomfortable living arrangement would be an understatement. We did find a bunch of turtles though!
We left Kentucky and drove through Tennessee (which was amazing, but maybe some other time we will be able to stop and check it out) to Alabama. We stayed 2 nights at a Love’s RV Stop and practically had the whole campground to ourselves. Tonight we will Harvest Host it at a church in Georgia. We will be in Florida by Sunday to spend a week.
We have had 2 job offers, one in Maine (near Acadia National Park) and one in Texas. I told Brian it is up to him which one we take as the one in Maine, only I would be working. I told him he could take that six months off to do work around the camper, work on his website, and play video games while I work (no pressure Hunny!). I would love to be a “sugar momma” since Brian has always taken care of me. Hopefully by next week we will know where we are headed for May.
Till then, we will enjoy the travel life!

Ooo, I would pick Maine….it’s in my bucket list my mom says it’s beautiful!
I’m leaning towards Maine, there is a lot more to do there as well!
