We made it to Maine! Our last blog left off as we were going to a state park in Pennsylvania. We stayed there for a week and everything was still closed. So we had a nice relaxing week of just hanging out in front of the campfire. We left there and went to a campground in New York north of New York City. It rained there the whole time we were there and we didn’t do much. I didn’t even get a magnet for my mom (sorry mom, I’ll get a NY magnet when we go there on our way back out of Maine).

We arrived in Maine after an eight hour drive to our first stop, a small, newly acquired campground in Carmel, Maine. It was raining there for about two weeks before we arrived so the campground was pretty much mud. It was a small campground, under 50 sites, and the owners bought it in 2020 and have been fixing it up since. It has a lot of potential. We stayed here for two nights then made the long 45 minute drive to our campground for the next six months. This campground did not open until May 5th, so we couldn’t get here until Friday.

I am still feeling out this campground. It seems like a lot of seasonal campers, and they can go either way (being friendly to being jerks). We did take a drive down to where I’ll be working (I start Wednesday May 10th) and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! There is so much to see and do in Bar Harbor alone. I am very excited that we are here. I have a feeling this summer is going to be the best. We got here and the rain stopped and the weather is a gorgeous 70 degrees today.

This is a short blog, but I will hopefully have more to tell you all next week after I start my new workamper job as a ticket agent!
