This week on my day off, I took Brian and the dogs to the sand bar. The sand bar is only accessible two hours before low tide and two hours after low tide. It goes from Downtown Bar Harbor to Bar Island (which is part of Acadia National Park). We were there about 2 hours before low tide, so we did not fully cross onto Bar Island, maybe another day. Tucker got to dip his paws in the ocean for the very first time. He seemed a little confused at first, but he ended up loving it. I love that he likes the water! Moxxi does not like her paws getting wet at all!
After we left the sand bar, I took them down to the area that I work and introduced some of my coworkers. We went to the restaurant that always makes me hungry from the smell of them cooking over the wood fired grill, Stewman’s Downtown. Brian had The Downeast Lobster Experience (it also came with a slice of blueberry pie, but we didn’t get a picture of that) and I got the Crunchy Maine Clams. Moxxi and Tucker had some of my fries and licked the floor clean while we ate.
That is about all we did this week. We are really short staffed at work, so I have been working a lot, but I still love this job. I like the people I work with, they are very nice and caring. They are my kind of people. My helmet came for the Vespa and I got to take her out on the road and I got her up to 40mph on a flat road! I was told it would top out at 35mph. The road I take to work ranges from 35-50mph so I think I will be fine going into work on the Vespa. I know I will have to pull over to let cars pass me on my home since it is mostly uphill, but that is ok, as long as I can save money on diesel and not have to drive the truck everyday. Plus now Brian can leave the campground during the day if he wants to.
Next week I have a little cruise planned, so stay tuned for some scenic pictures (fingers crossed the weather is good). Here are some random pictures of downtown Bar Harbor!
I am truly happy here in Bar Harbor! The weather is AWESOME and everyone is very nice. I recommend that everyone visit at least once in their life.
Also, we now have merch!
