This week we took a sunset cruise on Acadian Boat Tours for our 14 year anniversary. The whole week it was raining and cold and the waters were very choppy, so I did not have high expectations, I really thought it would have been canceled. The rain stopped mid afternoon and the skies started to clear, not fully, but enough that we could see the sun peeking through. It turned out to be a beautiful evening.
The boat that we went on was pet friendly, so Moxxi and Tucker were able to join us. They were fine until the engines started. They both were shaking and scared. After a few minutes Moxxi was fine, but Tucker was still shaking. I wrapped him up in a blanket and he started to settle.
The tour took us all through Frenchman’s Bay, named for Samuel de Champlain, the French explorer who visited the area in 1604. We saw all the homes built on the waterfront, seals, eagles, and beautiful scenery. Pictures really do not do this place justice. I highly recommend you visit this place even if it is just a week, you can enjoy all the beauty. We haven’t even been into Acadia National Park yet (although most of the islands are part of the park)!
This weekend, we will be switching campsites. Our site now is very shady, and I like natural light and being able to see without turning the lights on during the day. Also, Brian got Starlink and it does not work surrounded by trees. It worked out perfect that someone else in the campground is in an open area and wants a shadier spot. Next week we will show you the new site.
