Hi all! Just wanted to post a blog on our holiday season and some changes that have happened. Lets start with Thanksgiving.
We had a big spread for Thanksgiving with all the campground regulars. It was fun as always. We picked for Secret Santa that we did on Christmas Eve, played games, and had a great time. We had a roasted turkey and a smoked turkey and SOOO many sides and pies!
After Thanksgiving, I decorated the camper for Christmas. I got a new tree this year and I absolutely love it! I also got a 9 foot garland from Bronner’s when we were in Michigan.
In the beginning of December we went on a boat ride in St. Augustine to see the lights. It was gorgeous! It was also a full moon. It was a big group of us so we rented a 15 passenger van so we could all ride together. We also went to see an Elvis impersonator, but I didn’t get any pictures of that.
I hosted the campground’s first Bingo right before Christmas and it was a success! We had a few people that aren’t from our campground come and they were happy that we did it.
Christmas Eve, we did our secret santa gift exchange and played some games and I gave Brian his gift (a new scooter) and it was a hard one to keep secret! Christmas Day, we had some new people join us and we had a smoked ham (smoked by me), roasted ham and so many sides.
A few of us went bowling earlier on in the month, and I saw that they were having a special for New Years Eve, so we ended up going. There were 8 of us, so we did guys vs girls, and of course the girls won! Tucker’s birthday is New Year’s day, but I had to work, so I was a day late on making his pupcakes, but he loved them even if it was a day late.
Then on January 9th, Brian left for New York. He was offered an opportunity that we both agreed was a good one, so he is away from me for about a month. He is delivering water to trains. Every time I talk to him, things change, so I won’t get into where he is or is going. I am not going to lie, its been hard without him. I didn’t think I would miss him this much this soon. We were a team working here, and now it’s just me. It seems like the day he left, everything has been going wrong from people complaining, to things not working they way they should. Today (January 14th), 5 days since Brian, left is the first day that I have not broken down and cried. (Hunny, if you are reading this, I do not want you to feel bad about it, it is not your fault!) I know I can handle this job on my own, it just seems like everything was hitting me all at once. We have been apart before, but a week at most, never a month. I thought I would not be lonely since there are people that are here that are friends, but they have other things going on and other friends, so I am a bit lonely. I have my dogs and my diamond paintings have been keeping me busy. But enough of the pity party, it’s only a month and I will have my hunny back by my side. I can do this!
Before Brian left, we had a day-date together, just the two of us and went to the Daytona Flea Market and Daytona Foodee Fest at the outlet mall. I bought myself a “new to me” golf cart and we ate some delicious food! We had a good day off together. And I of course had to learn how to drive the pontoon boat that the campground rents out.
Here’s to hoping I survive this month without Brian!
